Thursday June 6th 8pm to 10pm Cradoc Golf Club

Join us to commemorate D DAY 80

All are welcome

 

We will meet in the golf club. There will be a mobile catering van offering refreshments and the golf club bar will be open for drinks.

At 9.15pm the beacon will be lit as indeed will many others across the nation.

There will be a reading of the Nation’s Tribute.

The bar will remain open until 10pm.

Resurfacing U0305

The Council are going to be resurfacing the road from Pont Y Yscir Bridge as per the attached map!
Powys County Council will be resurfacing the U0235 and the U0305.
They will be starting the work Tuesday 14th May 2024. The U0235 will take 4 days and the U0305 should take 10 roughly

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Yscir Community Council intends to co-opt two members to fill the vacancies that exists in the office of Councillor for the Yscir Ward.

 

Expressions of interest are being sought from members of the public who meet the following qualifications and are interested in representing their community on the aforementioned Community Council. You must be a British, Commonwealth, Irish or a European Union citizen and be 18 years of age or over; and meet at least one of the following criteria:

  • registered as a local government elector for the area named above; or
  • during the whole of the last 12 months occupied as owner or tenant land or other premises in the community named above; or
  • your principal or only place of work during the last 12 months has been in the community named above; or
  • you have during the whole of the last 12 months resided in the Community or within 4.8 kilometres of it. (*1)

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that a casual vacancy is deemed to have occurred in the office of Councillor for the Yscir Ward of the Community of Yscir with Honddu Isaf and Llanddew ward on the resignation of Councillor Geoff Watkins.

Rule 5 of The Local Elections (Parishes and Communities) Rules 2006, provides that on a casual vacancy occurring in the office of councillor of a community, an election to fill the vacancy shall be held if, within fourteen days (computed as stated below) after public notice of the vacancy has been given in accordance with Section 87(2) of the Local Government Act, 1972, notice in writing of a request for such an election has been given to the proper officer of the council of the county within which the community is situate signed by TEN electors for the electoral area.

The Proper Officer is the Deputy Returning Officer, Powys County Council, County Hall, Llandrindod Wells, Powys, LD1 5LG.

Vacancy for Clerk/Responsible Financial Officer

Yscir Community Council is seeking to appoint a Clerk/Responsible Financial Officer with immediate effect. This permanent position is for up to 180 hours per year, currently at £12.63 to £13.73, depending on experience and qualifications.

The Clerk is required to work mostly from home but is also responsible for organising, attending and taking the minutes at the bi-monthly evening Council meetings. They must ensure that the Council conducts its business properly and will provide independent, objective, and professional advice and support. They should be computer literate, self-motivated and have good numeracy and literacy skills. Experience is desirable, but not essential, as training and support will be available.

The successful applicant will be employed in accordance with the Terms and Conditions of Employment of The National Association for Council Clerks.

Interviews will take place at Cradoc Golf Club

We are holding a quiz night 7pm Friday 16th February 2024 at Cradoc Golf Club.

£5 per team of 6 or less. Includes a hotdog, prizes and a bar.

Cradoc School will be organising the raffle.
